Anti-edematous and antiseptic agent for the mucous membrane of the nose and antiseptic for the ear canal.

Hypersensitivity to any substance included in the medicinal product.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions.

Protargol can interact with drugs that contain papain.

Papain is a proteolytic enzyme that belongs to the class of hydrolases and is extracted from unripe papaya fruits (Carica papaya). Simultaneous use of silver proteinate and papain can reduce the enzyme action of the latter.

Avoid simultaneous use with drugs based on papaya (see the section “Interaction with other drugs and other types of interactions”). You should follow the recommended doses and method of use of the medicinal product. Silver proteinate can cause toxic effects when used excessively over a long period of time.

Accumulation of silver in the skin, mucous membranes, membranes and in the eyes, which is associated with long-term use of the drug, can cause an allergy, the characteristic feature of which is the coloring of the skin in a color from gray to dark blue, which is caused by the interaction of silver with various proteins and, as a result, the production of pigments. In addition, systemic symptoms may occur, such as hepatotoxicity, cardiomyopathy, amnesia, which are a consequence of the neurotoxicity process.
